Class Information
Date: November 23rd, 2024
Time: 5:00 - 7:30
Location: Fire of the Heart Gallery at Greenbank Farm on Whidbey Island
This is an in person DIY art class.
At the end of this class you will have created a 14 inch paper poinsettia wreath.
Using premium Italian crepe paper, your instructors will walk you through how to create poinsettia flowers and leaves that will then be attached to a wreath. The paper we use is brightly colored, and a unique and dynamic material that is very forgiving to work with. It easily cuts with scissors, it's sturdy, and it holds it's shape beautifully making it the perfect material for this project.
You will learn techniques for working with this material and for composing a finished wreath for your holiday displays. We will be working with wired ribbon, burlap and hot glue.
Instructor
Sarah Showell is the instructor for this class. She is an outgoing and charming artist who grew up on Whidbey island. She has a great sense of humor and has taught classes all over the world. She recently returned, with her family, from South Africa where she lived for over 13 years. She is an accomplished mosaic artist who also helps me run the gallery. Stop by the gallery to say hello, she would be happy to answer any questions you might have about the class or the gallery.
