We are looking for a professional, friendly, and customer service-oriented associate for our Greenbank Farm art gallery on Whidbey Island. This is a part time position that will include weekend days. Hours are expected to be between 6 – 18 hours per week, depending on the season (more in the summer and less in the winter and shoulder seasons). Gallery hours are consistently 11am – 4pm although we do stay open some nights later in the summertime and close earlier in the winter. This is an on-site position and not a work from home position. Starting pay is $20 per hour with sick time and employee discount offered. This is a non-exempt position and is not expected to have overtime. We are an equal opportunity employer.

Job Duties:

  • Work independently as the only one at the gallery during your designated days.
  • Create a warm and welcoming environment through professional and friendly customer interactions.
  • Answer questions and assist customers as their needs arise.
  • Complete sales transactions.
  • Wrap artwork for travel or shipment both large and small pieces.
  • Sustain the look and feel of the gallery space, restock as products sell.
  • Work on piecemeal projects for the studio as needed when it’s slower.
  • Open and close the gallery at specific designated times.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • The ability to work independently and communicate questions and needs.
  • Experience in customer service and retail.
  • Flexible schedule that will allow weekend shifts.
  • An outgoing personality that is people oriented, friendly and helpful.
  • Computer skills to run and trouble shoot an IPad and Square register.

An outgoing personality with customer service and retail skills are important. Creative or art experience isn’t necessary, but a willingness to learn is important. A strong interest in art or design or interior design is helpful. Being punctual, self-directed, and able to make decisions quickly when customers have questions is important.

Please send a resume or work history and a cover letter outlining your fit for the position to becca@fireoftheheartgallery.com. Or stop by the gallery, say hello, and drop off a copy of your resume or work history and your cover letter.
